OUR VISION
Is to realize a Newfoundland and Labrador that is a healthy, prosperous sharing and EQUAL partner within Canada and to ensure a positive social and economic future for our people.
OUR MISSION
By founding Canada's Newest Federal Political Party, the Newfoundland and Labrador First Party, is to take direction from the people of Newfoundland and Labrador, for the purpose of realizing our vision.
OUR PRINCIPLES
The Newfoundland and Labrador First will be guided in its constitutional framework and its policies by the following principles:
- A fairness and equality of fiscal accountability, social policy and individual rights and responsibilities for ALL Canadians;
- Will operate in a manner accountable and responsive to the needs and interests of the electorate of the Province of Newfoundland and Labrador;
- Will build a strong, vocal and active coalition of people who share these beliefs and who reflect the regional, cultural and socio-economic diversity of Newfoundland and Labrador and Canada as a whole;
- Will develop this coalition, embracing our differences and respecting our traditions, while working towards a position of Equality for the Province of Newfoundland and Labrador within the Confederation of Canada;
- Holds a belief in loyalty to the Constitution of Canada, while maintaining the fight for equality amongst all Canadians through the participation of democratic parliamentary institutions and the rule of Canadian Law;
- Holds a belief in the EQUALITY of all Canadians;
- Holds a belief in the Rights and Freedoms of the individual Under our Charter of Rights and Freedoms
- Holds a belief that the best guarantors of the prosperity and well-being of the people of Newfoundland and Labrador are the Representatives of the People of Newfoundland and Labrador, duly elected by the People of Newfoundland and Labrador with no political dependency on the whims or wishes of any other Federal Political Party and with only the best interests of the people of Newfoundland and Labrador at heart;
- Holds a belief that the utmost attention must be paid to quality of the environment as a vital part of our heritage to be protected by each generation for the next;
- Holds a belief that Newfoundland and Labrador should have custodial management and ownership of all its resources as exercised by the other partners of the Confederation of Canada with particular attention paid to the area of Adjacency; and
- Holds a belief that ALL Canadians should have reasonable access to quality health care regardless of their ability to pay.
OUR PROMISE
- We will research issues, poll the public, engage in open debate, critique government policies and practices, present our own recommendations and solutions and;
- When a Federal Election is called ,we will stand up and fight for the best interests of the people of Newfoundland and Labrador by seeking their support in successfully attaining a position in Federal Public Office in the Parliament of Canada; and
